Last night at Genie rehearsal, we had our first FULL SCRIPT read through. I was pretty excited about it. This was the first time I would be able to actually "see/hear" the work. If it made sense. If it was funny. Imagining how it will be staged.

I have to say it went pretty well and was pretty rad to see/hear it all at once. It’s fun to see everyone becoming their characters and to watch the show start to come together. All we have left to write is the music and that is it. Actually, the music is a big thing. It's what…uh…makes it a musical. So, over the next couple of weeks I plan to write some of the lyrics and hopefully at the next rehearsal we can work on them together too.

I've never written music before...like that other people have had to listen to.........okay, I used to write my own lyrics to "Ice Ice Baby" and sing/rap them in the lunch room. True story. Green Trails Elementary School. 1990.

Howie,

I am a fellow improviser in the city, and I have seen you perform a few times. I saw you do a funny scene about baseball with Britt Sanborn at IO during your run of 5bs, and I also saw you and your buddies' show "Howie" at the playground.

I read your blog every now and then and I admire your perseverance. A lot of people would have packed up and moved home, but you have stuck around cause it seems you love comedy/improv even though you realize how difficult it can be.

Your vulnerability in your blog is an addiction to the reader.

All that aside, I wanted to let you know how glad I was glad to see that you made a new playground team. I am on an incubator, and they are a lot of fun. Congrats! Some day we’ll meet!

I just saw this comment... as I'm beginning a new blog. I don't know who wrote this... but thank you for the kind words. It was nice to hear them... even though it's almost a year later.

Did we meet? If not, I hope we do soon.
